Ottawa landlord breathing new life into formerly decrepit Erie street building
Only two years ago the place sat abandoned, a decrepit relic, a magnet for drugs and prostitution.
Now the 1922 building on Erie Street West at Victoria Avenue is enjoying a complete makeover and should fill up by the fall — four apartments and five retail spaces — all thanks to an Ottawa developer.
And he’s only 27.
“It was in rough shape,” said Taylor Servais, who bought the building in mid-March 2017. “Then we started putting new life into it and we turned it around.”
Servais actually started investing in Windsor property in 2015.
Why Windsor? The Ottawa property analyst compared numbers and deemed Windsor the best place to invest in Ontario, given the city’s prices and overall potential.
