Lad’s Dairy Bar, one of Windsor’s oldest diners, closes after 59 years
It’s time to retire, says Anna Dragicevic, who opened Lad’s Dairy Bar and Restaurant with her husband in 1959. She’ll be 82 in August, and she wants to spend time with her grandchildren.
Floral bouquets adorned with cards wishing all the best lined the counter at Lad’s Dairy Bar & Restaurant Friday afternoon as the final customers finished their meals.
After 59 years in business, one of Windsor’s oldest diners is closing down.
Owner and founder Anna Dragicevic says it’s a bittersweet ending.
“I am happy because I want to get out and enjoy my grandchildren, but sad because I’m used to it here,” said 81-year-old Dragicevic.
“It’s my life, it’s my baby, and now to close up and go, I’m not happy about that.”
