The day was first launched in 1998 by The World Kindness Movement. It is an organization formed at a 1997 Tokyo conference of like-minded kindness organizations from around the world.
World Kindness Day is observed globally on the 13th of November every year to promote and celebrate the importance of being kind to each other and make the world a better place.
The day is celebrated to highlight good deeds in the community focusing on the positive power and the common thread of kindness which binds us.
How to Celebrate World Kindness Day
Here are some ideas on how to spread kindness on this day (and every day). This list is by no means a complete list of ideas and you are encouraged to add your own ideas to your own lists of kindnesses to perform.

- Say good morning (afternoon, evening) and smile, at people throughout the day
