The Downtown Windsor Business Improvement Association (DWBIA), in partnership with Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island and the Government of Ontario are dressing up the downtown again.
“Becoming creative and being able to provide holiday merriment in downtown Windsor that encourages visitation is key to supporting hyperlocal,” says Gordon Orr CEO, Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island. “Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island is excited to be partnering with the Downtown Windsor Business Improvement Association in celebrating seasonal cheer and pride of place, enabling us all to appreciate the artistry and beauty of local pageantry.”
26 storefront windows were designed and decorated by revered local artist Carlyne Peach, while fellow artist Chris Sisti is taking on a sole, special window for the season.
“All over the world, in thrilling urban shopping areas, window decorations are like a living holiday cards,” said DWBIA Chair Brian Yeomans. “Every year, the unveiling of these windows is so exciting because they beautify the downtown and draw in the crowds.
“Coming to see the windows, and then shopping the stores, has come to inspire family traditions year after year.”
